Drift: Space Survival

Survival Crafting Game

Engine: Godot

Role: Level Designer

April 2025 - Present

Drift is a multiplayer survival crafting game where players explore, collect resources, and build custom ships and bases.

I joined the Drift team in April 2025 as a Level Designer, with the goal of producing handcrafted regions for players to explore in the 1.0 update of the game. The final version of the game will see players piloting a fully buildable ship, warping into unique explorable regions in order to gather resources to upgrade the ship. These regions vary in size and theme greatly, from wide-open asteroid caves to cramped abandoned structures. Each level was constructed by me using premade assets and Godot's CSG modeling tools.

Below you'll find a brief description of every level I've created so far.

Icy Moon

The desolate site of a ship which has crash-landed into an outpost belonging to an unknown civilization. Investigating the ice caves within reveals mining of a valuable resource.

Overgrown Giant Mushroom

A massive, luminant fungus growing from within an asteroid. Following the roots through the overgrown tunnels reveals the source of nutrition.

Internal Outpost

A cramped network of caves which at first seems innocuous, but descending further uncovers an alien facility.

Abandoned Raceway

A former hub of entertainment, which now lies dormant. The inhabitants evacuated in a hurry, leaving behind various odds and ends, as well as a valuable ship upgrade, meant as a prize for the race champion.

Exploded Outpost

Another alien structure, or what's left of one. Whatever happened here scattered the asteroid as well as the facility itself all over the area.

Acid Dirt

Naturally formed ice caves, the frozen water a source of nourishment for deadly acid-spewing plants. Dirt has filled some of the tunnels.

Root Islands

A large fungal root system embedded in a large asteroid, extending out to the edges of the asteroid field.

Suspended Outpost

An alien outpost constructed in low orbit around a sun, in order to harvest material from a gigantic crystal.

Abandoned Neighborhood

An empty colony. Fully self-sufficient with its own living quarters, research facility, food production, and factory.

Worm Nest

A cluster of asteroids which serves as home base for some truly massive worms, which don't take kindly to visitors. Anyone finding themselves here would do well to take advantage of the smaller tunnels in the rock.

Genesis Cave

A basic asteroid with resources and flora within. This level was an early prototype region which I did an art pass on to bring up to the standard of the other levels.
